A Local Afghan journalist killed by mine explosion in Helmand

Local officials in Helmand province confirm that a local journalist was killed when a magnetic mine exploded in Lashkar Gah, the provincial capital.

“As a result of a magnetic mine explosion in Lashkar Gah, the capital of the province, Radio Azadi correspondent Elias Daei was killed and a brother of Mr. Daei was injured in the incident,” Omar Zwak, spokesman for the governor of Helmand, told the media on Thursday.

Mr. Zwak added that the incident was caused by a magnetic mine exploding on the reporter’s car.
