Takhar police chief killed in battle with Taliban!
Takhar security officials say the security chief of the provincial police command has been killed in a battle with the Taliban along with several of his associates.
Javad Hijri, the spokesman for the Takhar governor, said that Raz Mohammad Durandish, the security chief of the Takhar police headquarters in the Baharak district of the province, had died as a result of a battle with the Taliban.
Mr. Hijri also added that, in addition to the death of the Takhar Police Command, a number of his bodyguards were also killed and wounded, but the exact number of wounded and killed in this incident is still unknown.
A spokesman for the Takhar governor noted that the Taliban had also suffered heavy casualties in the fighting, but that the number of Taliban killed and wounded had not yet been determined.
The security chief of the Takhar Police Command is being killed by terrorist groups as the Taliban have intensified their attacks in more than 20 provinces in recent days.
