The country’s special security forces announce the deaths of seven Taliban militants and the wounding of 13 other people in the Sancharak district of Sar-e-Pol province.

Zabihullah Amani, the spokesman for the provincial governor of Sar-e-Pul, said the attack began around 12-noon last night and lasted until 2:30 pm, which resulted in the deaths of seven Taliban fighters, including one of their commanders, and 13 others wounded. They have been removed.

A local police officer was also killed and civilians were not injured in the operation.

Mr. Amani added that during the operation, the commander of the Taliban group, Saleh, who knew the use of night vision weapons was also eliminated.

Sar-e -Pul is from insecure provinces in the north of the country, which has always witnessed the Taliban’s widespread military presence and attacks.
