35 voter’s registration centers are closed due to insecurities in the country

Officials from the Independent Election Commission (IEC) in a call to the media have said that at least 35 voter’s registration centers across Afghanistan have been closed due to insecurities. “There are currently 458 voter registration centers in 33 provinces, 417 of which are active centers and 42 are inactive, with 35 of them are in action due to security reasons,” said Hawa Alam Nuristani, chairman of the IEC. She has also said that these center are closed due to security problems in the provinces of the country and with all efforts they were not capable of active these sites as soon as possible.”
The head of the country’s Independent Election Commission (IEC) has also said that the organization is currently preparing for the presidential election, it is expected that the Presidential Elections of the country would take place in the next four months.
