4 Afghan refugees, including 3 women and one kid who were willing to go to Europe, were drowned in the waters of Turkey. Foreign media reported that the incident was due to the collapse of their ship in the Turkish waters. According to reports, 11 other refugees have been rescued by Turkish navy forces.

According to the Turkish Infantry Corps, “Info center” has reported that the refugees were drowned in the waters near the town of “Qala Chenaq” in northern Turkey, who wanted to go to Europe illegally. “This ship carried 15 Afghan and Iranian asylum seekers who wanted to reach the Greek islands,” the Turkish government news agency reported.

Currently, Turkey is considered an important passage for asylum seekers who escaped violence in the Middle East and Afghanistan and want to go to Europe through Greece. It was as if the refuge of the drowned ship were intended to reach Greece on the island of Lesbos.
