A few Turkish refugees drowned on the island of Lassos
Foreign media have reported that a Turkish-made boat drowned on Greek island of Lassos, which left six dead. A Turkish politician says the escape of these Turkish immigrants is linked to a failed coup in 2016. Turkey’s Coast Guard said it has been able to save nine of its passengers.
Three of these drowned immigrants were babies and this news was confirmed by CNN Turk. The Turkish government news agency Anatoli also announced that the boat had a total of 16 passengers, and two of them were probably smugglers. The report said that all the passengers of the boat were citizens of Turkey. The coast guard of turkey has announced that they were able to save nine of the immigrants and still searches for another is ongoing.
