Khost security officials say three security forces and a prosecutor were killed in Ali Sher district.

Khost governor spokesman Talib Mangal confirmed the news to the media, saying the Taliban attacked security forces in Ali Shir district last night.

Mr Mangal added that when troops arrived at the checkpoint, they hit a Taliban roadside bomb on the road, killing two policemen and injuring four others. He does not say anything about the killing of a prosecutor, but says investigations are ongoing.

Meanwhile, the Attorney General’s office has confirmed the killing of the chief prosecutor of Ali Sher district prosecutor’s office in Khost province and said that the prosecutor had been killed by four Taliban police officers while performing their duties.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident, claiming that eight policemen were killed and 9 others were wounded.
