The Ministry of Interior has announced that after 3 hours of clashes between supporters of Atta Mohammad Noor and the special police forces in Balkh, Abdul Raqib Mobarez was appointed as new Balkh Police Chief. Mr. Mobarez has previously served as commander of the Nimroz Police and commander of the Special Forces 222 Anti-crisis unit in Kabul.
Mr. Mobarez was appointed as the commander of the Balkh police, with a military reaction of Atta Muhammad Noor supporters and former Balkh commander. Hanif Atmar has accused the government to physical disengagement of the political opponents of the regime and added that the international community should soon begin to end the bullying of the National Unity Government. Meanwhile, some close sources of Mr. Noor emphasized that the former governor of Balkh and the head of the Jamyat Islamic executive chief will not stand silent about this decision.
