The Ministry of Public Health launched a national survey program in collaboration with the Central Statistics and Data Administration and Kate University of Germany, which shows that the mortality rate for children under the age of 5 years from 2003 to 2018 has fallen by 80%

Minister of Health Firozudin Firuz said at a news conference in Kabul: in 2003, the death rate for children under 5 years of age was 257, but now it has fallen to 49.

Mr. Firooz said that vaccine coverage in different sectors for children from 2003 to 2015 also represents a 15 to 20 percent increase.

In the words of the Minister of Public Health, the chronic malnutrition rate has dropped from 40.9 percent to 36.6 percent from 2013 to 2018,

The survey shows that pre-natal care was well advanced by midwives.

According to a national health survey, prenatal care increased 63.8% from birth by midwives from 2015 to 2018, from 53% to 58.8%.
