Non-verified reports from some sources in the Independent Election Commission (IEC) shows that Mawlana Abdullah is selected as the chairman of Independent Election Commission (IEC). A source who did not want to be named, said in an interview Pasbanan news agency: “Mawlana Abdullah and Awrang Zaib were the two leading candidates for the office of the Independent Election Commission (IEC), but with the most votes of newly elected commissioners, Maulana Abdullah was able to succeed on his competitor and has Been chosen as the head of the Independent Elections Commission (IEC).”

Meanwhile, newly appointed commissioners were sworn yesterday by the president Ashraf Ghani at the presidential palace and they were mandated by newly elected under the new decree of President Mohammed Ashraf Ghani, that they would hold a voting process to elect the head of Independent Election Commission in their first meeting.
