Appointment of Zalmay Khalilzad as US State Department advisor to Afghanistan

Zalmay Khalilzad is an Afghan-American politician who has worked as Ambassador to Afghanistan and Iraq over the past few decades. He is one of the most prominent figures in shaping the rule of law after 2001 in the country. According to the latest US media reports, Mr. Khalilzad has been appointed by the state department of us as advisor to Afghanistan. The media has claimed that the news has been widely publicized by Mike Pempo. Mr. Pempo has wrote in his page that Khalilzad’s appointment could be more effective in facilitating the Afghan peace process.
Mr. Khalilzad is considered an anti-Pakistan figure who has been making the most effort in the past few years to isolate Pakistan in international era. However, the Afghan Foreign Ministry has not made any comments on Mr. Khalilzad’s appointment as the US State Department’s advisor for Afghanistan, but the Foreign Ministry spokesman Sebghat ullah Ahmadi told Pasbanan Media Group: “The Afghan Foreign Ministry is keen on any decision made by Washington over Afghanistan and we are hopeful that these decisions Could have a positive impact on the country’s political and security situation. ”
Meanwhile, international relations experts believe that the appointment of Mr. Khalilzad can play a significant role in changing Pakistani policy in Afghanistan. “Khalilzad has had the most experience in the battle of Afghanistan and the presence of the United States for nearly two decades,” said Allah Mohammad Kakar, an international relations analyst in talks with the Pasbanan news agency. “His views are similar to those of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, and this could be a good sign for the citizens of Afghanistan that the Americans aligned with his anti-Pakistani ideas and would play a role in preventing terrorist support. In the second dimension, he can also be more effective in the peace process in the country. ”
