According to the new appointments of Interior ministry, Abdul Raqib Mubariz, former commander of the Nimroz Police and former commander of the Kabul Police Special Forces, has been appointed as the commander of Balkh Police. But reports from Balkh show that bodyguards of Atta Muhammad Noor have banned the newly appointed police commander at the Mawlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi, and prevented Mr. Mobarez from entering to the city. Some sources have told Pasbanan that Atta Mohammad Noor, the former governor of Balkh, in response to the last changes of Interior Ministry has said that the removal of Ekramudin Sameh, from the rank of Balkh police commander, is against the memorandum of understanding signed between him and the presidential palace, and up to the end he will try to refuse this act of interior ministry.
The sources add that Mr. Noor emphasized the Ekramudin Sameh will continue his work as police chief of the Balkh province and added that the Interior Ministry could not dismiss Mr. Sameh in any cost or cannot appoint another person as the Balkan Police Chief. Mr. Noor office has not yet formally react on this issue, but sources in the Afghan Ministry of Interior say that no one can enforce the law and prevent the conversion or protest to ensure security in the provinces of the country. The source continues to emphasize that Mr. Mobarez is one of the leading figures in Afghanistan police forces and he has the ability to provide better security in Balkh.
