Taliban ambushed first vice president Abdul Rashid Dostum’s convoy while he was willing to make a tour to Jawzjan northern Afghanistan, has sparked a sharp reaction from Afghan politicians and government officials. In the most recent case, the presidential election candidate Hanif Atmar has reacted on this occasion by publishing a statement written: “The attack on the convoy of Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum, is cowardly and terrorist act, the event is condemned by us and we ask government to investigate of this event seriously and it must be follow up.”

The convey of General Abdul Rashid Dostum, the first vice president of the country, was hit by the Taliban ambush on the Balkh-Jawzjan highway yesterday. At least one Guard of General Dostum was killed in the clash and two others were wounded.
