Faryab local authorities in northern Afghanistan have said that the conflict between the Taliban terrorists and the security forces in the Pashtunkoot district of the province has killed the frontier commander in Faryab.

In a clash, more than 20 Taliban insurgents were killed and wounded, and four civilians killed in the clash with Muhammad Zahir, and six others were wounded, Karim Yoresh, a spokesman for the Faryab police, said in a newsletter.

The security forces are said to have fallen in the Gada Qala district of the province during the clash, he said, adding that the terrorist attacks have been pushed back and the checkpoint has fallen into Taliban repossession by Afghan forces.
