Earlier this morning, some media outlets affiliated with the Taliban group announced that Abdul Salam Rahimi, the president Ghani office chief of staff, met with the Mullah Baradar, deputy for the Taliban in Qatar. The Presidential Palace has stated this issue as rumors to have rejected the news. Mohammad Haroon Chakhansuri, the spokesman for the presidential palace, wrote on Twitter: “Reports released on Abdul Salam Rahimi’s visit with Mullah Baradar, the deputy head of the Taliban group in Qatar, are unfounded and rumored.”

Meanwhile, the Taliban group has announced that the news is not true. Zabihullah Mujahid said: “The publication of reports related to the visit of Mullah Baradar and Salam Rahimi is a rumor which has been formed by the Kabul government, and they are in a bad situation in the current days, so they are doing this with the help of some media outlets.”
