Citizens who went to the polls today to insist that, after the presidential election is over, the government and the electoral commissions must take serious action to ensure transparency and prevent fraud. “We have went to use our votes to keep Afghanistan afloat and to face current challenges,” said Abdul Ahad Sertaj, a resident of Kabul’s Tenth District.

Another voter, Forozan Yazdani, says: “Despite all the security threats, we went to the polls today to determine our fate, now we expect the government and the electoral commission to vote after the vote is over. Citizens in Afghanistan insist on securing the transparency of the presidential elections of 1398, before a fraudulent voting process was launched in one of the southern provinces in favor of a specific candidate.
