The Coordinating Committee of Journalists has announced that the Ministry of Information and Culture of the country, unlike holding a round of elections for journalists to represent Media society in Loya Jirga of Peace Consultative, is trying to sabotage the election with the conspiracy of a number of institutions so-called the journalist’s defender. The 12-member committee insists that the government, and in particular the Ministry of Information and Culture, are keen to keep journalists in confronting each other.
The committee also says that a number of media officials are pushing journalists to coordinate with institutions known as a so-called journalistic defender to hold the runoff. Along with that, members of the committee insist that the Loya Jirga Commission and Information and Culture are trying to bring opposition between journalists and the media outlets.
In a recent newsletter of the Committee for the Coordination of Journalists, it is stated that yesterday the so-called organizations for defending journalists, there were also various concelebrants of journalists’ advocacy organizations that surprised a limited number of journalists to hold these elections, but this process was not all inclusive of journalists. It is delayed. Meanwhile, an election was held between nearly 170 journalists from Kabul and 15 journalists were selected for membership in the Peace Consultative Loya Jirga last week, in which 5 women and 10 men were held by journalists in an open election.
