While the Afghan government had hardly criticized peace talks between the United States and the Taliban in recent weeks, today the head of High Peace Council Secretariat announced that President Ghani had an instantaneous awareness of US and Taliban peace talks which was held in Qatar. But in the most recent case, the spokesman for the High Peace Council quoted Mohammad Omar Dawoodzai as saying: “Every time while Zalmai Khalilzad, the US Special Envoy for Afghanistan’s Peace, was coming to Kabul, he was providing the latest details of Taliban peace talks with President Ghani, But about the last round of peace talks information which was provided to president or not actually I am not aware of it, and I have no information about this issue between the present and Zalmay Khalilzad.”
