Detention of 19 Taliban members including their three commanders in Kandahar

The National Directorate of Security has announced that the Special Forces of this institution has been able to arrest at least Taliban’s 19-member network including their three senior commanders in Kandahar in a special operation. The newsletter names these suspects as: “Noorullah, famous for Abu Zohr, commander of the 40-member group, Fateh, son of Muhammad Ishaq, commander of the Taliban 40-member group, and Hamidullah, known as Saqib, commander of the Taliban Red Company in Zabul.
The newsletter adds that these suspects were sent to Pakistan for their further military training and these militants were sent by the Quetta Council on the instructions of their leadership but were arrested after returning to Kandahar. The newsletter has also said to have been involved in terrorist activities in the provinces of Kandahar, Zabul, and Logar, and tried to eliminate individuals including local influential and tribe elders, and they were said to have been responsible for the elimination of educational and health centers.
