Federica Mogherini has warned all parties that there will be no peace in elections would not be held in Afghanistan. “I believe that if the Afghan presidential elections are not held properly, I do not think that peace will be provided in this country,” she said. Our emphasis is on holding presidential elections in the course of the year, this test is difficult and complex, but we are determined to be with you and to support all the achievements of this land. ”
Lady Mogherini also said that the EU supports the holding of elections and the maintenance of the constitution of Afghanistan, while President Ghani once again emphasizes that presidential elections will be held next to the peace process in Afghanistan. Mr. Ghani said at a joint press conference with Federica Mogherini, EU foreign policy chief: “We are grateful for the support of the European Union, which they consider to be the only solution to the establishment of a legitimate government in Afghanistan, in addition to supporting your statements. That the constitution of Afghanistan should be kept the same way. We believe that it is the only election that will open the way for the formation of a powerful and legitimate system, and we will ensure that we are in charge of the government to uphold our commitments. ”
The European Union emphasizes the holding of the Afghan presidential election in the current year, which has now delayed the holding of this fateful test for the next six months. The case was accepted by the government, but presidential political opponents believe that the delay in holding elections is an attempt to this trend.
