During a news conference, the head of Afghanistan independent elections commission (IEC) head Hawa Alam Nuristani announced that the process of holding presidential elections has been extended up to 5 pm of today. She added that 4,500 polling stations are now open to voters and all citizens must go to the polling stations to choose their fate and elect their favorite candidate.

The process of presidential elections was extended for another two hours as ballots from Kabul to other provinces had technical problems, especially in the biometric apparatus have left most citizens deprived of their right to vote.
