According to a newsletter of the presidential palace, President Ghani hosted the ministerial meeting on the presidential palace. At the meeting, the Finance Ministry said that up to now 91 percent of Afghanistan’s development budget has been spent. Based on this newsletter: Officials of the Ministry of Finance said that in 2018 financial year, government consumed 355 billion and 124 Afghani, all around Afghanistan.

The Ministry of Finance also said that in 2018, the incomes of finance ministry have increased and they were able to collect more than 183 million Afghani in 2018, which has completed the eight percent of the IMF’s target. The meeting continues to emphasize on increasing of government employee’s salaries and the disappearance of the odd salaries. Officials from the Ministry of Finance have added that gradually all employees of the ministries will receive equal privileges.

The Presidential Palace Newsletter also reported that 90 percent of the development budget has been spent by 19 ministries and Ministry of Public Works, Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Breshna Company, Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Agriculture are at the highest level of budget spending in the 2018 financial year.
