The head of the Afghan High Peace Council, Karim Khalili, praised the efforts of Germany in the peace process, saying: “Facilitating the process by Germany can promote peace talks and this process can make the results more effective. The Afghan peace process needs to be understood and coordinated, and there is a need for a comprehensive international consensus to end the battle. Hence, the High Peace Council is working to create opportunities for comprehensive and consensus-building within and outside Afghanistan to bring about ongoing negotiations for a just and lasting peace.
Meanwhile, the special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan of Germany in the past few days had several meetings with senior government officials in Afghanistan, including Mohammad Omar Dawoodzai and several other political officials.
