Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, leader of the Islamic Party, accused the foreigners of defaming the elections the latest.
The Hizb-i Islami Office wrote in a newsletter, “Hekmatyar, in a meeting with some of the tribal elders and jihadi factions,” said that foreigners are creating barriers to transparent elections and that they will hold a transparent and fair election in Afghanistan. ”
This is happening while the country’s elections are scheduled in June.
The previous presidential election in 2019 did not make any clear winner for widespread allegations of fraud. Eventually, Abdullah Abdullah and Ashraf Ghani agreed on a national unity government after months of controversy with the United States.
