Heavy casualties for Helmand police due to air strike of a decisive back-up mission

The Interior Ministry’s reported with releasing of a newsletter that the Taliban attacked the “Tanki” outpost over Nahr-e-Saraj district of Helmand last night, in response to which the critical support missions also tried to eradicate the armed opposition by launching an air campaign. According to the newsletter: “Taliban targeted police check post, in response mistakenly the check post was targeted by Resolute support Mission Air force unit, in which 8 police soldiers were killed and 11 others were wounded.”
Meanwhile, Interior Ministry spokesman Nusrat Rahimi has said that the motivation to enter the exact police has not yet been clarified, but a delegation from the Ministry of the Interior and the Resolute Support Mission are trying to rigorously review that issue. Soon the results will be shared with the people.
