While the Taliban have increased their attacks on several provinces since the start of the seventh round of talks between the Taliban and the United States in the Doha capital of Qatar. In the latest case, General Taden Khan Kandahar Police Chief told media that the Taliban launched a massive attack on Maroof police district using four Humvee vehicles and as a result of this attack at least eleven policemen were killed and more than 27 other police forces have been wounded during this incident.

Mr. Taden has said that after the incident, additional forces were sent to the police command of Maroof district, to recover the area after the event took place, and all the soldiers who were killed and wounded were transferred to the center of Kandahar city. Meanwhile, the Taliban have published a newsletter by claiming that the number of police casualties in the attack is higher than what is reported to media.
