Islamist Campaign led by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, a day after the announcement of today’s preliminary results (Sunday 19 October) at a news conference in Kabul, says that those who do not accept the announcement of the results of the election will await the reaction of the MEK and the people.
Mr. Hekmatyar adds that despite the possibilities, some groups are still trying to delay the announcement of the election results due to the fact that they have more control over the election results.
According to him, one campaign has spent $ 170 million to $ 180 million on its campaigns. He does not name a specific electorate but says that one of the electoral programs has spent $ 4 million.
The presidential candidate urges the public not to be silent and defended their votes if they are offended, and also urges the IEC to declare each place individually to prevent fraud.
Gulbuddin Hekmatyar insists that a provisional government should be formed if the election goes to a runoff.
The Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced two days ago that it had postponed the primary results for a week due to technical problems and transparency in the process.
