Members of the House of Representatives told the media that the US mission in Afghanistan had failed and that the Kabul-Washington security pact had not been properly implemented. A number of members of the House of Representatives said: “On one hand Afghan troops have not been fully equipped and there has been no serious fighting with terrorist groups in the country.”
“The lack of determination of the international community to bring peace to Afghanistan has worsened the situation,” says Helimah Sadaf Karimi, a representative of the Jawzjan People in the parliament. “The debate on Afghanistan’s peace and conflict has always been at a standstill.” Members of the Afghan parliament have repeatedly accused the United States of failing to meet its commitments and ignoring national interests in Afghanistan, calling for the cancellation of the Kabul-Washington security pact.
