Iran is ready to enter into dialogue with the United States if economic sanctions would be removed. Hassan Rouhani released the statement on Sunday at his official website. However, statements by Iranian leaders, especially Ayatollah Khamenei, had rejected any dialogue with the United States.
The United States resumed sanctions on Iran after the 2015 nuclear deal came to an end, causing major damage to the Iranian economy. Meanwhile, European leaders called for the resumption of talks and ending tension at the same time as the Iranian president’s proposal was issued in Paris on Sunday.
Britain, France, Germany, Russia, and China are still committed to a 2015 nuclear deal with Iran. In addition to the various economic sanctions against Iran, the United States has imposed sanctions against Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his office staff as well.
