Iran will contribute to the Afghan peace process

Presidential Palace has issued a newsletter that President Ghani’s has to visit Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani in Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan. The meeting, was held on the sidelines of the Shanghai summit between Mr. Ghani and Mr. Rouhani, and both sides have discussed the expansion of cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran, a regional consensus on Afghanistan’s peace, centered on the government and regional understanding.
Iran’s Hassan Rouhani said: “Our friendly relations are based on the interests of the two nations and the governments of the two countries, international principles and government with the government ties are our major consensus.” He added: “Iran is ready to assist in the peace process at under management of the Afghan government.” He has also said that he is struggling with the Afghan government in this regard, in connection with the problem of drug trafficking. He said that the Chabahar port is important from an economic perspective for Iran, Afghanistan and India, and we will work together to develop it.
