Iranian officials: We shot down Ukrainian aircraft

Iranian officials have admitted for the first time that the Ukrainian plane was deliberately targeted by fault of their military forces after a Ukrainian plane crash that flew from Tehran’s Imam Khomeini airport. According to Iranian National Television reports, Iranian troops have deliberately and mistakenly targeted the aircraft that was passing through its territory.
“The aircraft was targeted and overturned by the mistake of the Revolutionary Guards officers,” the commander of the Iranian Air Force said in a news release. Tehran had previously refused to target the aircraft with long-range missiles. But some leaders in the world, including Justin Trudeau, had said that Tehran had deliberately targeted the passenger plane.
