NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said at a press conference that the fate of Afghanistan will be discussed in the NATO’s Defense Ministers’ meeting. Mr. Stoltenberg has stated: “Afghanistan will also be high on the agenda, with a meeting of all nations contributing to NATO’s Resolute Support Mission. While the security situation remains serious, we see a unique opportunity for peace,” said the Secretary-General.

Mr. Stoltenberg has also stated: “NATO Allies fully support U.S. efforts to reach a peaceful settlement in Afghanistan, and the Alliance’s continued commitment, both with forces and funding, is key to creating the conditions for peace. NATO Secretary General has also stated that NATO and US commitments to Afghan security and defense forces would continue that in upcoming weeks the seventh round of talks between the United States and the Taliban will once again resume in Qatar.
