Khalilzad: Afghanistan’s peace process has received international support

The US Secretary of State’s special envoy to the Afghan peace process, Zalmay Khalilzad, said that any peace process with international support will lead to success, and Afghanistan’s peace process will provide Afghan self-sufficiency with international support. Mr. Khalilzad said Afghanistan’s self-sufficiency goal of using natural resources, attracting investment and reducing security costs will provide more opportunities for Afghanistan.
Mr. Khalilzad recalled these statements at a meeting in Kabul, hosted by the World Bank. Mr. Khalilzad emphasizes on the self-sufficiency of Afghanistan, which Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed hope that the process of Afghan peace talks has been successful.
