State Department Spokesman for Peace Najia Anwari has tweeted the arrival of US Special Envoy Zalmai Khalilzad for the Afghan peace process. “Mr. Khalilzad has already arrived in Kabul,” wrote Lady Anwari in her tweet. Afghans expect to hear good things about the recent talks as they progress in the peace process. “We want to invest our time in developing the country rather than managing the war and killing people.”
Meanwhile, Presidential Spokesman Sediq Sediqi confirmed in a conversation with the country’s media that Khalilzad’s visit to Kabul added: At the same time, Qatar’s meeting with the US and the Taliban is said to have agreed to a 10-day ceasefire, but no official sources have so far commented.
