After Zalmay Khalilzad ends the fifth round of talks with Taliban representatives in Qatar and agreed on two main issues that include US forces withdrawal from Afghanistan and the provision of Taliban guarantees cutting their relations with insurgent groups, the United States authorized representative in the process of peace talks in the country. Khalilzad is now in Washington he has written on his Twitter page one day after his arrival in Washington DC: “Peace talks are on the right track. After coming to Washington, I shared the details of the dialogues with senior US government representatives. While yesterday it was a bitter day for us, today I feel that we will see a new spring. I have also described the details of these dialogues with the UN Special Envoy for Afghanistan, the Representative of India and the Deputy Foreign Minister of Norway. ”
But the Afghan National Security Advisor has stated that Khalilzad visit with Taliban representatives is an attempt to isolate the national unity government, and Hamdullah Mohab said: “US direct talks with the Taliban are actually insulting US victims and spending a wide range of money in Afghanistan after 18 years.” Mr. Moheb also emphasized that Zalmay Khalilzad is trying to get into power and he wants to take over the responsibility of the interim government through talks with the Taliban.
