Khalilzad: We are focusing with the leaders of the Afghan government to form a comprehensive negotiating team

Zalmai Khalilzad, a special envoy to the United States for Peace in Afghanistan, said he will focus on ongoing efforts to build a comprehensive and effective negotiating team in talks with Afghan officials.
Mr. Khalilzad wrote on his Twitter page that he had a conversation with the President, Chief Executive Officer, Foreign Minister and some other Afghan officials on where and where to stay next to the Afghan peace process.
Zalmay Khalilzad began his new round trip to the region on Tuesday evening, reaching Kabul.
After a meeting with President Mohamed Ashraf, ghani said, the presidential palace announced that Khalilzad would stay in Kabul for a while.
Khalilzad is scheduled to travel to the region for the eighth round of talks with Taliban representatives in Qatar.
