In the latest approach, the New York City Muslim community has put together security patrols jointly to protect the lives of the worshipers and their mosques as well. According to reports, American Muslims now have achieved some vehicles that look like New York Police vehicles but these cars are designed with the symbol of “Asalaam Alaikum” in order to distinguish them from New York police cars during patrolling of the mosques and worshipers.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Khan, a New York resident who is thought to be the mastermind of this approach, said in an interview with a well-known VOA America: “After the deadly attacks on the Muslim community in New Zealand, the Muslim community of America, in particular, The Muslims in New York took the initiative. In addition to launching remote patrols, we have also launched a 24-hour consultation to bring the New York community together with Muslims. The goal of this initiative is to protect the security of Muslims and their mosques. ”
Nearly two weeks ago, at least four people were detained by the police in the wake of the murder of 50 Muslims worshipers in New Zealand.
