Hundreds of workers at Baghlan’s quartet of coal mines protested for not paying their salaries and blocked the north and northeast highways with the center of the country.

The protesters say their livelihoods have not been paid for two months after the coal mines were returned to the government after the private-sector coal miners returned to the government.

Employees blocked four Baghlan coal mines in traffic this morning in protest at the Baghlan-Center public highway.

Meanwhile, sources who did not want to be named confirmed in a conversation with a reporter of Pasbanan news agency in the northeast zone that the Ministry of Mines has closed all four Baghlan mines accounts.

Another source in a conversation with the pasbanan News Agency says that the presidency has so far not ordered the livelihoods of coal miners in Karkar, Chimney, Andhra Pradesh and Khurd Valley to be provided.

The employees have warned that the highway north and northeast will be closed until their salaries are paid.
