209 Shaheen Corps has announced that at least two key Taliban commanders have been killed with their 23 fighters as a result of army Special Forces operation in Ghourmach Faryab district. Mohammad Hanef Rezayee, spokesman for the 209th Shaheen Corps, told Pasbanan News Agency: “The Afghan Special Forces launched  an special operation in Qala-e-Wali area of Ghourmach district, this operation has begun since late last night, and has continued until now and as a result of this operation at least 25 Taliban militants including Mullah Haji Mullah, the head of the Taliban’s military commission for Ghourmach district and Mullah Ismail a Taliban key commander for Ghourmach was killed and 16 others were wounded during the operation.

The spokesman for 209 Shaheen Corps also claimed that the operation is ongoing, but no reports have been submitted on the casualties of military and civilians, although the Taliban have not yet spoken on this event yet.
