While election campaigns in Afghanistan have been the lightest in the 18-year history of democracy, in the latest case, the head of the security and justice team, Rahmatullah Nabil, has asked Amrullah Saleh, the first vice president of Mohammad Ashraf Ghani election team, to endorse Ghani, he urged Mr. Saleh to step down from president Ghani Team and Join his electoral Team. Mr. Nabil wrote to Mr. Saleh in an open letter: “My brother, before the virtual sludge of your ruling patriotic team is muted forever, a number of young people from the Pamir Mountains to the Nimroz Plains know your pattern. Come and join the “patriotic majority” to work together on the slogan “Security and Justice”. With this slogan, the “government” will be easily constructed and we will separate the “traitorous line of true patriots”.

Mr. Nabil continued in his lengthy letter: “Let us rescue our beloved homeland from the abyss of perdition that will lead to both the continued enrichment and the Taliban-Pakistani domination. “I am confident that all the people of Afghanistan, from scholars to intellectuals, from youth to women, from the disabled to the survivors of the great patriotic ranks of justice and freedom, will give us unequivocal support.” It had been leaked that Zalmai Rasoul, a presidential candidate, had dropped out of favor with his wealthy president. A case that neither the presidential palace nor Zalmai Rasoul election team has commented on.
