Mohammad Gulab Mangal, governor of Nangarhar resigned from his position today. According to the independent directorate of local governance newsletter, Mr. Mangal resigned from his position due to some personal issues and this organization has accepted officially his resignation letter. Until now there are no further details about the reason of his resignation and also there was no statement from Mr. Mangal on this regard. But unconfirmed reports shows that president Ghani was looking to dismiss several officials of Nangarhar local government from their posts.

At the same time, a source close to Nangarhar ex-governor Gulab Mangal says he resigned from his position several days ago. Mohammad Gulab Mangal was working from nearly two years as governor of Nangarhar. Formerly he was appointed as borders and tribes minister of the national unity government.
