NATO condemns Taliban treating to Media and Journalists in their recent newsletter
Kabul- Afghanistan (PMG):
Report: Shershah Nawabi
Two days ago Taliban released newsletter in which the group warned Afghanistan Media outlets and journalists if they would not stop their anti-Taliban ads all media institutions and journalists would be targeted as military objectives. Now Jens Stoltenberg NATO Secretary General condemns this act: “We strongly condemn any threat against any journalist, because it is an absolutely fundamental democratic right to have freedom of the press for journalists to work, to do their work, and to report and write about what they want, in the way they want. “
NATO Secretary General has also stressed: “That’s really a core democratic value, democracy and the rule of law are fundamental values for NATO. And we have seen that journalists have been killed in Afghanistan, but also in other countries and it is extremely important to stand up for their right to report, to work, because that is so important for our efforts to strengthen democracy and the rule of law.” NATO SG condemns Taliban warning for Journalists in a time that earlier Afghan interior ministry said they will have concrete measures for protecting Media and Journalists.
