Maidan Wardak activists, in collaboration with the provincial governor, have built a library for the prison in the province. In this prison, there are more than a thousand volumes of books, from the fields of religion, history, politics and social life.
Civil activists in Maidan Wardak province have said that they have done so much to encourage prisoners to read and provide opportunities for education for them. “We, civil society organizations, are trying to collect many books in this library so that prisoners have a good luck with this library,” Hikmatullah al-Fat, a member of the Wardak Civic Activist, said.
“In this library, there are more than a dozen volumes of religious, historical, social and political books, and prisoners can benefit from these books,” provincial governor Mozafar al-Din Yaminidar added.
