Security officials in southern country announce 40 dead and wounded armed insurgents.
According to 209th Corps, 33 members of the Taliban group were killed and twelve others were severely injured in the Taliban operations in the districts of Mezan and Arghandab. According to these officials, the security and defense forces of the country launched these operations in response to a massive Taliban attack on a security checkpoint in Arghandab Province.
Security officials added that during the Taliban attack on security shells in Arghandab district, all the soldiers of this shell lost their lives. According to reports, the armed Taliban launched 50 invasive attacks against the security forces in the province last month.
During the operation, security forces obtained 45 self-made mines as well, according to military officials.
