President Ghani today at the presidential palace hosted Federica Mogherini, the head of EU foreign policy and a high-level politician of Europe. Mr. Ghani attended a news conference after a meeting with this EU official behind closed doors and emphasized that peace talks have become an opportunity to end 40 years of conflict and violence in Afghanistan, which will help the country to become truly heart of Asia. “The citizens of Afghanistan are free and have the right to end their 40 years of violence with a peaceful result,” said Mr. Ghani. “The foreign policy of our government means that the contradictions should be dropped and negative thoughts about Afghanistan should be turned into positive thoughts, we know that this opportunity will be developed and we will strive to make Afghanistan become in truly means the heart of Asia.”

According to the Afghan president, the crisis in the country is based on regional, global and Islamic conflicts. He believes: “Afghanistan suffers from the violence that is, in fact, a product of international conditions. We believe that the contradictions of the Islamic world, regional countries, and international powers are one of the reasons for this conflict. Hence, we need to look at each issue and consider the issues involved, as we have suggested our solutions. The most important issue is to find the solution for ending the current crisis, we have now made peace as a national discourse, and I expect to reach a precise approach to Afghan peace by holding the Peace Consultative Loya Jirga. ”

The statement comes in a time that Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said the creation of a temporary government in Afghanistan is one of the key options for sustained peace, but the national unity government is one of the key factors that has put serious obstacles in the way.
