Reports of a delay in the Afghan presidential election, which is set to be held at 28 of October, have come more than ever. In the most recent case, President Ghani has reiterated that elections must be held at a predetermined time. President Ghani says elections are a basic need, so preparations are being made to hold them at a given time.
The presidential palace last night (Monday, August 12) said in a news release that Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, in a meeting with a number of senior provincial leaders, said the government had a will and a plan for peace and wanted a lasting peace. He emphasized that it is a national peace, not a revelry, a party and an ethnic one and that all Afghan people and people should be equally involved.
