Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmoud Qureshi said during a meeting with his German counterpart that Taliban talks with the United States have made significant progress. “The Taliban have made good progress in their talks with the US delegation,” Mr. Qureshi said, “Pakistan has urged all parties involved in Afghan peace process to set down and make meaningful talks which would be intra-Afghan Talks.”

Taliban and US peace talks are now in its 14th day, but so far no details of these visits have been made available to the media. Nevertheless, Hamdullah Moheb Afghanistan National Security Advisor believes that Taliban peace talk’s opportunity has ended, and insists that the Afghan government is ready to conduct direct talks with the Taliban. “The Afghan government is ready to intervene directly with the Taliban in the process of peace talks, if the Taliban want peace,” he said at a UN Security Council meeting. He called on Taliban to put forward their demands to the government, Instead of targeting Afghan security forces and civilians. ”

Meanwhile, the head of the National Unity government has said that Taliban are seeking time and they haven’t gain and opportunities and they don’t have and willingness to join direct talk with the government of Afghanistan. Meanwhile, the German foreign minister has called on the Taliban to prepare for direct peace talks with Afghan government.
