Rally of Angry South Korean Taxi drivers against carpooling service

Ten of thousands of South Korean taxi drivers rallied today to protest against a carpooling service that they would abandon their jobs and threaten them. Kakao corps introduce carpooling service Kakao Mobility and the demonstration came a day after the suicide of a taxi driver who set himself on fire to protest against that plan.
On the other side, Kakao officials told media that “we will continued consultation with the industry, parliament and the government.” Meanwhile, the taxi drivers also said that they are suffering from low income and long hours of work and this product is destroying their jobs.
