Local officials in the northeast of the country have said that after several days of clashes between the security forces and the Taliban, Takhar-Kunduz highway has been opened to traffic once again. The officials said that Kunduz -Takhar highway had been dominated by armed opposition since last week and this route was completely closed by the Taliban.

But today, with the launch of a massive operation by the ANDSF, security forces have been able to open the highway to traffic. Meanwhile, security sources have said heavy losses have occurred in the clashes this morning to the armed opposition, but Afghan security forces have not suffered any harm during this battle.
