Reconstruction of Maulana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi Monastery begun in Balkh

Reports from Mazar-e-Sharif indicate that the Agha Khan Development Foundation started the rebuilding of Maulana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi Monastery, a poet and one of the prominent Sufis of the sixth century. Following the warnings about the destruction of Maulana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi monastery which is located in Balkh. The cultural figures accuse the government of lack of attention to reconstruct such historical heritage. They have accused the Ministry of Information and Culture of the country of mismanagement in this section, but the Agha Khan Development Foundation now undertake the rebuilding work of Maulana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi.
Meanwhile, Balkh’s poets and writers have criticized the double clash in rebuilding the historical sites by the government and the Ministry of Information and Culture of the country and said: “In the past few years, Afghan historical heritage that put the country’s identity at the forefront of the world is not constructed.” Cultural activists in Balkh province had already expressed concern about the destruction of the monastery of Maulana and called on the government and the Ministry of Information and Culture of the country to rebuild the erected building and urged the government to pay close attention to this building which is the historical identity of the country. Further destruction of the monetary of Maulana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi, should be prevented by the rebuilding of this site.
Meanwhile, the Agha Khan Development Foundation in Afghanistan, which has been commissioning and rehabilitating the destroyed sections of Maulana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi’s monastery, and it is scheduled that the work of this site will start next month. Maulana Jalal al-Din Muhammad Balkhi is a well-known poet of the sixth century AH, who was born in Balkh, Afghanistan, but after his birth, his father moved from the birthplace of Maulana to Konya and he is now buried there.
